The #MobetterFood motto states,” every school shall have a garden, a farmers market and a grocery store.” 1stSaturdays is the monthly volunteer/recruitment day at school sites. On those days, the volunteers typically meet at the school garden and share updates. Since gardens and farmers market’s are low-cost start ups, we recommend schools to start with these two ventures first. Once the schools three main organizations have grown, the school should begin making plans to expand towards hosting a grocery store.
